Homecoming, football games, Halloween, and the upcoming holidays are all reasons for students to get together and have fun.  The most important responsibility as adults in our community is to keep our children healthy and safe, especially when they are out having fun.  According to the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey Results for Issaquah students:

  • 44% of 12th graders (213 students) reported having drunk alcohol in the past 30 days.
  • 31% of 12th graders (150 students) reported binge drinking (having 5 or more drinks in a row in the past 2 weeks) and
  • 29% (140 students) reported using marijuana in the past 30 days!

That is a LOT of students that are not making good decisions.  Please check out the tri-fold “Where’s the Party?” for some valuable legal facts and information on safe teen gatherings.  It is up to ALL of us in the community to keep our kids safe!  Sponsored by the Issaquah Community Network and Drug Free Community Coalition.
